Following ERM’s commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2025, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated our updated science-based target. Our updated target aligns with the pathway to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to levels that will limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

Underpinning this headline goal, ERM has set absolute targets for 2025 as follows:

  • Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 80% by 2025 from a 2014 base year, and
  • Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from business travel and employee commuting by 30% by 2025 from a 2018 base year.

Updating our overall target from a 2°C aligned pathway continues ERM’s industry leadership in this area. We were one of the first professional services companies to set a target approved by the SBTi in 2019. Given the important role that business has to play in achieving the Paris Agreement goal, we continue to lead in this effort – and we are encourage all companies to do the same.

For 50 years, ERM has worked with clients who have helped deliver access to energy around the world. As a supporter of the TCFD, we have made disclosures on climate-related risks and opportunities as recommended by the TCFD since 2019 and we have recently released our first stand-alone TCFD Disclosure.
