Alessandro Battaglia is a Partner with ERM Italy based in Milan. He has more than 30 years of experience in the environmental field. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics, a MS Degree in Environmental Engineering, and is a Registered Professional Engineer in both Italy and the US. He has worked in the US, France and Italy, mostly for international clients. Alessandro is experienced in the preparation of feasibility studies, the design of remediation systems for soil and groundwater, regulatory negotiations, and the development of cost estimates for remediation. He has collaborated with AFCEE in the development of the Sustainable Remediation Tool (SRT). Alessandro has served as an expert in numerous trials related to environmental matters both in the US and in Italy. He has conducted applied research for the resolution of environmental problems for the Italian National Research Council, as well as for the Gas Research Institute (U.S.) and for the Electric Power Research Institute (U.S.). He is also the author of numerous publications in refereed journals and of technical presentations.

Edoardo Masut is a Senior Consultant at ERM Italy, with experience in site investigation and remediation projects.

He has graduated in Environmental Engineering at the University of Padova and he is qualified for the profession of Civil and Environmental Engineer. He has developed consultancy and design experience regarding organization and management of environmental characterization, and remediation projects for contaminated sites, on behalf of clients operating in the Oil&Gas, Chemical&Pharma, Manufacture sectors.

He has managed, in the role of technical coordinator and specialist, projects involving site investigation activities, human health risk assessment, site remediation with conventional and innovative technologies, environmental liability and environmental damage estimation, circular economy- and sustainability-inspired remediation approaches.

Piero Mori is a Partner and the technical responsible for site remediation of ERM in Italy, with over 30 years experience in contaminated site management.
He graduated in Geology in 1992 and has a Master in Environmental Impact Assessment. He is a specialist of in-situ remediation through innovative technologies. He has managed, for multi-national clients, complex programs of soil & groundwater assessment/remediation at industrial/brownfield sites. Major projects in which he has been involved include conventional and innovative in-situ remediation technologies, risk assessment, groundwater flow and fate & transport modelling, litigation and forensics. He has been working on several types of facilities including brownfields, oil refineries, bulk fuel storage terminals, heavy and light chemical processing and storage plants, general manufacturing facilities. He has leaded remediation project teams involving several technologies like in situ chemical oxidation and reduction, bioremediation of chlorinated hydrocarbons and petroleum hydrocarbons, multi-phase extraction, thermal treatment.
